The Visual Studies Platform is please to host a documentary filmmaking workshop with IAS artist-in-residence Gábor Hörcher.

Following the screening of his award-winning film Drifter the previous night, Hörcher will conduct a masterclass on documentary directing techniques, including working with documentary subjects, constructing truth in documentary, and will share his experience on blurring the lines between documentary and fiction with the subsequent short fiction film Ricsi, that grew out of his collaboration with the documentary’s main subject.

The workshop is open to all students who have taken a filmmaking course at CEU, or anyone from the CEU community who has prior filmmaking experience. Registration is required to attend the workshop, please email vsp@ceu.edu to register for the event. All participants in the workshop should view the film prior to attending.  If you are unable to attend the screening the previous night, please reach out to request an alternate means of viewing the film.
