ACTIVATE, an EU Horizon Europe project approaching social dissent as cultural heritage, announces CfP for its first hybrid workshop Comparative Archival Ecologies: Mapping Alternative Audiovisual Media, at La Contemporaine, in Nanterre, France. Submit your abstract exploring archival strategies related to media activism until May 5, 2025!

Zine Making Workshops

Zines are small format publications that derive their name from ‘magazines’ and resemble the form of the classic periodical. Like with magazines, zines are the medium through which different ideas can be presented and their form and content are only limited by the ideas and materials at hand of the creator. Historically, zines were often used as tools for circulating the community’s knowledge and transferring ideas not accessible otherwise.

We are happy to share with you the news that the new center for photography, Foto Arsenal Wien opened its gates a few days ago, settling into their final home in 3rd district of Vienna.  They also have very interesting photo exhibitions on show until beginning of June that you might wish to visit.

The exhibition includes over three hundred photographs and objects from seven decades of agency history.
-> Simon Lehner - Clean Thoughts. Clean Image; Artist: Simon Lehner; Curator: Felix Hoffmann. For "Clean Thoughts. Clean Images", his first institutional solo exhibition, Simon Lehner generates motifs that blur the boundaries between pop culture, art history, and autobiography, putting the dynamics of memories and the construction of identity into a new perspective.
