In these challenging times, when human rights are under threat around the globe in unprecedented ways, documentaries that can tell these stories on film are of vital importance.

Former VSP Students' Film to be Screened at the International Migrant Film Festival

"Anyák" (Mothers) a film made by former CEU students Mayya Kelova (Turkmenistan), Andrea Kobor (Hungary) and Adina Tulegenova (Kazakhstan) in the 2017 Visual Studies course “Historical Narratives and the Moving Image” taught by Jeremy Braverman and Oksana Sarkisova has been invited to this year's international Migrant Film festival in Ljubljana.

Call for Applications to VSP Visiting Faculty position

Visual Studies Platform at CEU invites applications for a Visiting Faculty in visual theory and methodology with particular emphasis on digital and interactive media as well as cross-media perspectives. We are looking for an experienced academic with a strong background in theoretical reflection and comparative media analysis. The successful candidate will offer a 2 credit MA course addressing interactions of image and text as part of the Visual Theory and Practice curriculum (Fall or Winter 2018/2019).

New CEU Advanced Certificate in Visual Theory and Practice Registered by the New York State Education Department

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has registered CEU’s new Advanced Certificate program in Visual Theory and Practice. The program will start in the academic year 2018-19, and will be run by the Visual Studies Platform.
